Adam Keagle, representing the Fine Lake Association, addressed the Board regarding concerns about truck traffic on Hickory Road near Fine Lake. Residents expressed concerns about the volume of truck traffic and the speed at which trucks travel along the road. Mr. Keagle proposed rerouting truck traffic from Hickory Road to Manning Lake Road, Leinaar Road, and Banfield Road.

Managing Director Jake Welch and the Board explained that Hickory Road is designated as a Primary Road and has a posted speed limit of 25 mph. They also noted that rerouting truck traffic would shift the impact to residents living along the proposed alternate route and that one of the suggested roads is gravel, making it less suitable for increased truck traffic.

To gather additional information, the Barry County Road Commission (BCRC) will place traffic counters on Hickory Road for a two-week period to collect data on truck volumes and vehicle speeds. BCRC will also review accident history along the Hickory Road corridor at Fine Lake.

Mr. Welch stated that, once the traffic data and accident information have been analyzed, he will contact Mr. Keagle to discuss the findings and determine whether further discussion of potential alternatives and associated costs is warranted.

Motion was made by Commissioner James and seconded to authorize Equipment Superintendent Scott Schantz to include equipment and other items in the next municipal auction.
