FULL-TIME ROAD WORKER The Barry County Road Commission has an excellent opportunity for a Road Worker. We are seeking skilled, qualified applicants to fill the position. Preferred applicants would have 2+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, a Michigan Commercial Driver’s License with A&N endorsements & current Medical Card. This is a full-time position with a starting pay rate of $27.36/hour and a competitive benefits package. A valid Michigan Driver’s license, a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug screen are required. ATTENTION INDIAN HILLS RESIDENTS - - - -Our contractor will be finishing the base course of asphalt in the next couple of hours. They intend to be back midmorning tomorrow to place the top course. You can expect some additional delays tomorrow during the day and into the evening as they will try to finish tomorrow. Please leave early for appointments and know that it could take you a bit longer to get to your house. Top course is a bit more finicky as you obviously dont paving over it so travel times will be a bit longer than today to assure the final product is up to our standards. Thank you!!! ... Special Board Meeting 9/2/26

The Barry County Road Commission will hold a Special Board Meeting on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 4:30 PM in the Board Room at the Barry County Road Commission.  The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss Land Acquisition and Funding for Land.

Board Meeting Change

The regularly schedule Board Meeting on June 16, 2026 @ 6:30am, has been rescheduled for June 23, 2026 @ 7:00am.

 

Special Board Meeting 4/24/26

The Barry County Road Commission will be holding a special board meeting on Friday, April 24, at 1:00 PM.

 

Rural Task Force #3 Meeting

A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. for the purpose of allowing local officials and interested citizens to provide input into the allocation of state and federal aid funds for eligible rural routes and transit systems in Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties for fiscal years 2026 – 2029. The meeting will be held at the offices of the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County
