The special meeting of the Barry County Road Commission was called to order at the Road Commission’s Board Room at 7:45 A.M. by Chairman Solmes.
Members present: Solmes, Fiala, Dykstra, and Assistant Managing Director Jake Welch.
The agenda for September 16, 2022 was approved.

Motion was made by Commissioner Fiala and seconded WHEREAS: The petition for absolute abandonment of the below described roadway having been filed; a certificate of ownership and occupancy having been attached as required by statute; the fact that the statute states that ownership of all of the abutting property negates the need for a hearing; the Board of County Road Commissioners of the County of Barry having reviewed the maps, roadway, and petition, and otherwise being fully advised;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND DETERMINED that it is in the best interest of the Barry County Road Commission, the users and owners of property abutting the right of way involved, and the public to absolutely abandon and discontinue the below described portion of the former location of Keller Road in Hope Township, Barry County, Michigan;
A parcel of land in the Southwest ¼ of Section 17, Town 2 North, Range 9 West, Hope Township, Barry County, Michigan, lying adjacent to Lot 1 of the Supervisor’s Plat of Techland, as recorded in Liber 3 of Plats on Page 40, described as: Beginning at the concrete plat monument at the Northernmost corner of said Lot 1; thence South 56°01’25” West, 59.93 feet (platted as South 54°43’ West, 60 feet) to a capped iron stake at the Westernmost corner of said Lot 1; thence North 06°03’59” West, 72.25 feet to the relocated centerline of Keller Road; thence North 83°56’01” East, 179.37 feet along said relocated centerline; thence South 19°28’10” East, 80.70 feet (previously recorded as South 19°57’06” East, 80.03 feet) along the centerline of a 20 foot wide easement for ingress and egress (for Bluegill Lane) to the North line of Lot 57 of said Plat of Techland; thence South 78°06’ West, 1.58 feet previously recorded as 1.68 feet; thence South 88°33’ West, 21.75 feet along the South line of Keller Road (as originally platted) to a concrete plat monument at the Northeast corner of said Lot 1; thence continuing Westerly, 77.07 feet (platted as 76.96 feet) along said South line of Keller Road (as originally platted) and the arc of a curve to the right the radius of which is 291.08 feet and the chord of which bears North 84°01’07” West, 76.85 feet; thence North 76°26’ West (platted as North 77°43’ West), 49.60 feet along said South line of platted Keller Road to the point of beginning.
EXCEPT THE NORTHERLY 33 FEET, WHICH IS SUBJECT TO A ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY IN FAVOR OF THE BARRY COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the above described portion of the former location of Keller Road in Hope Township, Barry County, is hereby absolutely abandoned and discontinued.
