The regular meeting of the Barry County Road Commission was called to order at the Road Commission’s Board Room at 7:30 A.M. by Chairman Fiala.

 

Members present:  Fiala, Solmes, Dykstra, and Managing Director Bradley Lamberg.

 

The agenda for October 19, 2021 was approved.

Motion was made and seconded WHEREAS, the Board of County Road Commissioners has received a petition duly executed by 7 freeholders of Hope Township, to abandon, discontinue and sell land associated with Unnamed Road, located in Hope Township, Barry County, Michigan as more specifically identified on Exhibit A attached to this Resolution and as shown on Exhibit B; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of County Road Commissioners has the authority to absolutely abandon and discontinue any county road under the General Highway Law, Chapter IV, Section MCL 224.18; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of County Road Commissioners had held a public hearing on the petition, after the giving of public notice, and has considered the application and related materials, together with comments and other information from the public; and

 

WHEREAS, Brad Lamberg, Managing Director, has reported that he has viewed the Road and premises described in the petition and recommended that it is advisable to absolutely abandon the Road.

 

WHEREAS, Nick Beimer, property owner, has requested to purchase the land on which the Road currently sits, as he owns the properties on both sides of Unnamed Road.

 

 

 

IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:

           

  1.   The Board of County Road Commissioners hereby absolutely abandons and discontinues the Road.
  2.   The Board of County Road Commissioners hereby approves the sale of the land to Nick Beimer.
  3. Best Interests.  The Board of County Road Commissioners hereby finds that the abandonment and discontinuance of the Road is in the best interest of the public.
  4.   The Board of County Road Commissioners hereby grants Brad Lamberg, Managing Director, authority to approve and sign Purchase Agreement and Quit Claim deed in regards to Unnamed Road.

For your commitment by December 1st to a similar amount of application work in the 2022 season, we will commit to our 2021 pricing.

Michigan Chloride Sales, LLC would like to extend our 2021 Mineral Well Brine bid for the 2022 dust control season.  All prices, terms, and conditions would remain the same as our “Dust Control” bid of February 2, 2021.

 

Mineral Well Brine, delivered in 9,500 gallon truckloads.

 

Continuous Application for the Township listed below …… $0.2000/gallon

 

Baltimore, Castleton, Hope, Irving, Maple Grove, Orangeville, Thornapple, Woodland

 

Terms:  Net 30 Days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Motion was made and seconded to set bid opening date for 10:00 A.M. October 25, 2021 for one (1) 20 Ton Tilt Deck Equipment Trailer, Tandem Axle and one (1) Melter Applicator with Double Pump and Electric Heated Hoses.
