The regular meeting of the Barry County Road Commission was called to order via phone meeting (allowed by the Executive Order of the Governor due to COVID 19) at 7:30 A.M. by Chairman Solmes. A telephone number with a meeting ID # was supplied to the Commissioners and the public via our website, Facebook, and posted at our gate at our location so all could participate.
Members present: Solmes, Fiala, Dykstra and Managing Director Bradley Lamberg.

Motion was made and seconded, WHEREAS, the County Road Commission for Barry County will submit an application to install new guardrail with the 2022 Federal Local Safety Program funds:
WHEREAS, the County Road Commission for Barry County has reviewed the application requesting funds for installing said guardrail. Furthermore, the County Road Commission of Barry County understands that they:
- Must pay twenty percent of the as-bid construction cost and the entire cost of all engineering services and right of way.
- Must agree to have sufficient funds to pay their share of the costs for construction in fiscal year 2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Road Commission for Barry County hereby approves the filing of the said application with the Michigan Department of Transportation requesting funds through the Federal Local Safety Program for the installation of new guardrail. Further that we are actively seeking their participation in the installation of the guardrail.

WHEREAS: The excellent maintenance of roads is a matter of pride in the township; and
WHEREAS: The township residents have approved extra voted millage for road maintenance; and
WHEREAS: Proper maintenance of both paved and gravel roads is a benefit to our residents;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Woodland Township Board hereby directs the Barry County Road Commission to proceed with the following road projects in 2020:

Scott Bond, Superintendent, spoke to the Board about damage done on Tischer Road & Vedder Road. Brookview Dairy has been hauling into their farm and have caused damage on Tischer and Vedder Roads. We will speak to the farmer and see if they will help in the repairs to this road.

Jake Welch, Director of Operations, and Brad Lamberg, Managing-Director, spoke to the Board about the repairs on North Broadway. The bottom of the culvert on North Broadway has scoured through in the center and has begun settling. Experts stated that this damage does not typically happen. The following is what the Engineering Department submitted to the Board for repairs:

The Board agreed with the Engineering staff to go forward with repairing the existing culvert and if unexpected damage is discovered that the Engineering department will make any necessary changes in the best interest of the Barry County Road Commission.

Motion was made and seconded WHEREAS, the Barry County Road Commission recognizes the value in selling their Federal Aid dollars;
WHEREAS, the Barry County Road Commission plans on selling Federal-Aid in the amount of $465,000 for 2021.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Road Commissioners for Barry County agree to begin negotiations with potential Road Commission or MDOT buyers of Federal-Aid dollars for the 2021 construction season.
