Barry County Road Commission maintains all of the County Public Roads in Barry County.
The regularly scheduled Board Meeting for September 2, 2025 has been canceled.
Our crews will be chip sealing Briggs Rd from M-179 to Bass Rd tomorrow (8-13-25). Please avoid the area if possible. We will do our best to get traffic through but expect delays. Thanks!

The Barry County Road Commission has an excellent opportunity for a Road Worker. We are seeking skilled, qualified applicants to fill the position. Preferred applicants would have 2+ years of experience, a high school diploma, or GED, a Michigan Commercial Driver’s License with A&N endorsements & current Medical Card. This is a full-time position with a starting pay rate of $26.63/hour and a competitive benefits package. A valid Michigan Driver’s license, criminal background, and a pre-employment drug screen are required. ![]()

The BCRC will be paving Briggs Rd between M-179 & Bass Rd Tuesday - Thursday, July 22-24. The work will be completed under flag control but please avoid the area if possible. Thank you!
July 18th and 19th the BCRC’s paving contractor will be overlaying the following roads. These roads will include daily lane closures allowing one lane thru traffic with flagging operations in place. Please plan accordingly. Starting at 7:00am:![]()
- McCann Rd. from M-37 to West State Rd. ![]()
- Irving Rd. from 3/4 mile North of M-37 to West of Loop Rd.
