Gravel Processing

Gravel Processing consists of separating sand and raw, unprocessed gravel, than crushing the raw stone and remixing it with sand and clay to make finished gravel.

Gravel and sand are the two materials that the BCRC uses the most throughout the year. Gravel for our 480 miles of gravel roads and sand for winter maintenance. A mining contractor brings in a Processing plant to one of our 5 gravel pits and produces specified quantities of each material. The engineering staff tests the material to assure it meets all AASHTO, MTM & ASTM standards for specification.
