The minutes of December 11, 2001 was accepted as read by the Secretary.

Motion by Commissioner Pashby seconded by Commissioner Willcutt Whereas the Plat of Swan Hollow in Section 4 of Rutland Township, T3N, R9W, has been approved and 0.32 miles of Hathaway Court in this subdivision have been constructed to our specification. Whereas the Plat of Prairie Acres in Section 33 of Irving Township, T4N, R9W, has been approved and 0.72 miles of Thornbird Drive and Wildflower Drive in this subdivision have been constructed to our specification,
Now therefore be it resoled that the above roads be accepted into the Barry County Road System and the Board to assume maintenance of said roads and add these roads to our Annual Mileage Certification sent to the Michigan Department of Transportation on 3-1-02.

Mike Norton, Safety Director, talked with the Board on the current eyeglass policy and statewide truck permits.
Motion by Commissioner Willcutt seconded by Commissioner Dykstra
WHEREAS, the County Road Association of Michigan Truck Permit Subcommittee was formed in 1998 as a subcommittee of the CRAM Engineering Committee to review trucking related issues on the county road system; and
WHEREAS, the subcommittee has met with representatives of the Michigan Trucking Association, Michigan Farm Bureau, Michigan Aggregates Association, Michigan Association of Timbermen and Michigan Concrete Association to gather their input on transportation issues; and
WHEREAS, the County Road Association of Michigan Truck Permit Subcommittee has worked to develop the “County Road Commission Extended Transportation Permit and Single Move Permit” and the corresponding Guidelines for the Movement of Oversize or Overweight Vehicles and Loads on the county road system; and
WHEREAS, this Board is authorized by Section 725 of the Michigan Vehicle Code (compiled at MCL 257.725, MSA 9.2425) to issue special permits regarding roads under the jurisdiction of the Board for the operation of vehicles of a size and weight exceeding the maximum specified for said roads; and
WHEREAS, this Board is of the opinion that adoption of these permits and guidelines are in the best interest of the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Pursuant to Section 717(7) of 1949 PA 300 as amended and in accordance with said statutory provisions, this Board adopts the “County Road Commission Extended Transportation Permit and Single Move Permit”, corresponding permit fees and Guidelines for the Movement of Oversize or Overweight Vehicles and Loads under the Jurisdiction of the Barry County Road Commission by resolution on December 18, 2001; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the “County Road Commission Extended Transportation Permit and Single Move Permit” forms will supersede all other previous forms adopted by this Board.
