The regular meeting of the Barry County Road Commission was called to order at 9:00 A.M. by Chairman Willcutt.
Members present: Willcutt, Dykstra, Pashby, and Engineer-Manager Brad Lamberg.
The minutes of May 8, 2001 was accepted as read by the Secretary with the addition of the following motion:
Motion by Commissioner Pashby seconded by Commissioner Dykstra authorizing a lease/purchase of a Mobark Model 2400XL Version Chipper. Financing to be determined by the Engineer/Manager.

The Irving Township Board approved the request to apply a full seal on Buehler Road from Sisson Road to Eckert Road at the cost of $12,750.00 and a full seal on Irving Road from McCann Road, East to Township Line at the cost of $12,670.00
The Irving Township Board has approved the following road projects from the year 2001.
1. The gravel request as outlined in your letter dated March 26, 2001 at the cost of $8990.00 with the Road Commission furnishing the first 1000 loads of crushed gravel.
2. Dust control according to instructions given in conversation with Dick Raymond.
3. Irving Township will pay for its ½ share to centerline Woodruff Road.
4. Board would also like a full seal applied on Grange Road, from West State Road to Wood School Road at the cost of $18,000 if it is possible for Township to make a partial payment this year and the balance next year in the event we go over our road budget for fiscal year 2001-2002.

1. Pine Lake Road (Long Point to Norris Road) 5.50 mile 28′ wide for Full Seal this would be a share project with Orangeville Township. Prairieville Townships share of this project is $36,600.00.
2. Boniface Point (North west side of Pine Lake at Oakwood Resort) .39 mile 1700′ at 14′ wide for full seal. Cost of this project $2,540.00.
3. Center Street (Oakwood Shores on North West side of Pine Lake) .16 mile 20′ wide for full seal. Cost of this project $1,200.00.
4. Oak Drive (West side of Upper Crooked Lake .47 mile full for full seal. Cost of this project $3,500.00.
5. Long Point (Merlau Drive, South West side of Pine Lake) 1.05 Mile at 20′ wide for full seal. Cost of this project $7,400.00.
6. Breezy Point (South East side of Pine Lake) .20 mile 16′ wide for full seal. Cost of this project $1,020.00.
7. Ford Point (East side of Pine Lake) .24 mile 16′ wide for full seal. Cost of this project $1,220.00.

Hastings Township Resolution Cont.
At the board meeting last night we decided to follow your recommendations for dust control for the first round. Depending on the weather conditions this summer we want less applied the second time. Or – if it’s a real dry year we may ask for a third application. The board gave Jim and me the authority to make the decision ourselves so please give us a week’s notice or so before you plan the second application.

RESOLUTION: Road improvements
WHEREAS: Gravel road improvements have been presented to the Assyria Township Board
WHEREAS: The Assyria Township board approved gravel road improvements as presented by the Barry County Road Commission dated April 3, 2001 in the amount of $10,760.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION OFFERED BY SUPERVISOR BOLES AND SUPPORTED BY TRUSTEE AUGUSTINE
Upon roll call vote, the following voted “Aye”: 4

The Supervisor declared the resolution adopted.
RESOLUTION: Chloride application (dust control) for gravel roads
WHEREAS: Dust control prices have been presented to the Assyria Township Board
WHEREAS: The Assyria Township board approves 38% chloride solution application to all 33.5 miles of unpaved roads in Assyria Township. This shall be applied in two passes for all unpaved roads.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION OFFERED BY CLERK MASSIMINO AND SUPPORTED BY SUPERVISOR BOLES
Upon roll call vote, the following voted “Aye”: 4

The Supervisor declared the resolution adopted.
Motion by Commissioner Pashby seconded by Commissioner Dykstra to set bid opening date for Asphalt Laying June 5, 2001 at 11:00 A.M.
