In recent weeks and upcoming weeks we have and will be placing gravel over locations that have received chloride (dust control). A couple of things to remember….
1. The new gravel has the correct amount of binder material mixed in therefore it controls dust very well on its own.
2. Everyone wants dust control applied in the last couple of weeks in May
3. Our gravel spreading season begins in April or May and we aren’t able to complete that work until September or October, therefore if we stopped placing gravel for a couple of months to enjoy the dust control we wouldn’t be able to complete our gravel spreading applications.
Please realize we have thought this over for years to determine the best and most economical way to spend your tax dollars and this is a bit of a necessary evil.
